Since its inception, V.K.M., abiding the inspirational ideology of Dr. Annie Besant, has marched forward adding new dimensions to its visionary approach. Udaan: The Women’s study cell of the College started (in 2004) with a purpose to make students aware about the socio-cultural, economic, political and legal standing of the 21st century women in India. The aim of this cell is to encourage and empower teachers and students to face the challenges of socio-cultural violence, economical and political marginalization. They over the years have sharpened their acumen in this branch of study and social work which addresses the gender problems.

N.S.S.: The government of India with a view to sensitize the student community about the socio-economic hardships present in the life around and to make it join the process of nation building by becoming responsible citizens introduced the National Service Scheme in India. V.K.M. as a part and parcel of B.H.U. started two units of N.S.S. comprising 200 students as volunteers in the session 1989-90. Today it has the proud privilege of 5 units of N.S.S. comprising 500 student volunteers.

Sanskrit Matri-Mandalam: Established in 1991, a non-profiting voluntary organization, is being sustained entirely by V.K.M. Its basic purpose is to promote interest in those students who do not know the rich heritage of Sanskrit, our classical language. Even the faculties of the College are deeply inspired to learn the rudiments of Sanskrit as Matri-Mandalam promotes practical application of the language with its academic use. To achieve this end, Matri-Mandalam organizes workshops, lectures, elocution, recitation and cultural programmes.
